GASEOUS STERILIZATION

There are some chemical substances which are gaseous in nature that are used in the laboratory for sterilization i.e formaldehyde and ethylene oxide. This substance is used as an alternative when autoclave is not available. Formaldehyde is use to for sterilization of bacterial spore and fungi, and the method is still in used till today in some laboratory. Another gases used is ethylene oxide, but ethylene oxide is a carcinogenic substance because of these, it is very risky to use, and restriction of uses has been place on it all over the world. But is still in used in some laboratory and hospital today with a very strictly precaution adhere to in other not to release the substance into the environment to cause harm to the populace.
