Definition of Petroleum (Crude oil)

Petroleum can be broadly defined as the complex mixture of hydrocarbons that occurs in the earth in liquid, gaseous, or solid forms. It is a naturally-occurring brown to black flammable liquid. Crude oils are principally found in oil reservoirs associated with
sedimentary rocks beneath the earth’s surface.
