Nigerians to Begin paying to Registered National ID card

Nigerian citizens are to Begin paying to register National Identity card begin from 2022.

Director general of national identity management commission disclosed that nigerian will begin paying for registration of national identity card starting from 2022.

the director general of the commission Mr Alyu Aziz made this known when launching “time reform seminar on the national digital identity ecosystem strategic roadmap for the enrollment of Nigerian and legal resident into the national identity database(NIDB)” organised by bureau of public service reform (BPSR).

Mr aziz advised Nigerians to register their national identity card from now until 2022, any registration from 2022 above will attract payment but the cost of the fee is not yet disclosed.

On his part, he said that the card only can be given to those who register for it, a resident citizens and citizens, according to the constitution of federal republic of Nigeria those who have attained 16 years of age and above.

According to him nation all over the world mostly develop nation have adopt digital way of moving the government forward, therefore Nigeria will partake in moving the country forward with the use of national identification card.

He further go on to debunk the rumour going around that the government will deny anyone without (NIN) service in the government institutions.
