Manager, managing Osaze Odemwingie hotel in Benin city was murdered by an armed robbers.
Osaze Odemwingie an ex-international footballer, was said to have build hotel along Erediawa street Off Upper Sakponba Road Benin city Edo state, and employed Osato Okunkpola who is married to Anita, a journalist, working with Tabloid in Benin City.
The incident was reveals by anonymous person from the hotel, according to him, the armed robbers come to the hotel at about 9:pm on the 17 February 2019 and shot the manager dead at the spot.
Upon enquiring from Benin city police, the spokesperson of the police DSP Chidi Nwabuzor, said Osato was heat by a bullet, on a shoot out between two cult groups.
The police spokesperson reveals that the two cult groups that are in shootout with each other is Eiye and Aye, and the shoot out take place on Sunday night within the area.
DSP Nwabozor statement read;
The incident is true. It is also true that a murder happened at Odemwingie hotel on the 17th of February, 2019. The incident was between two secret cults, the Aye and Eiye cult groups.
It was not am armed robbery incident.
The body has been deposited at central hospital mortuary.
Our detective are still investigating the incident.
