Alhaji Yakubu Dauda have been abducted by unknown gunmen. Alh. Dauda is the Head of Sabon Gida-Barkin Kogi Village in Lafia Local Government Area (LGA) of Nassarawa State.
Confirming the incident, when Nassarawa State police command was contacted, Police Public Relations Officers ASP Samaila said yes is through that Alhaji Yakubu Dauda, Village Head of Sabon Gida-Barkin Kogi in Lafia Local Government Area was abducted by an unknown gunmen.
Usman said that Alhaji Yakubu Dauda was abducted from his house at about 1:25am February 2019 on Monday morning when people are still sleeping.
According to him, the gunmen come to his house, and shot sporadically on air before taking the village head away to unidentified location.
“When the incident was reported, the Commissioner of Police Bola Longe, visited the village and directed for his rescue.
“The search and rescue team comprising Police Mobile Force, Special Anti-Robbery Squad as well as local hunters and vigilante groups are combing the bushes around the area,” ASP Samaila said.
He said the police have also mounted security in the area and all roads linking other villages and towns such as Assakio, Obi and Lafia.
He conclude by saying that the police will not rest until Alhaji Yakubu Dauda was rescued, and the hoodlum arrested and brought to book.
