NOUN Lift ban on Alumni Association

The Council of the the National Open University of Nigeria has approved the lifting of the ban on the NOUN Alumni Association, with effect from February 28, 2019.

This formed part of the resolutions at the end of its 54th meeting of council, held at the Lagos Liaison Office.

Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council, Prof. Peter Okebukola (OFR), said the council also approved March 22 and 23 for the 2019 Convocation activities, as approximately 18,000 students will be graduating.

Okebukola, who also announced the approval of the promotion of the following staff:
a) Dr Eserinune McCarthy Mojaye as Professor of Mass Communication
b) Dr Augustine Ukwueze as Asso.Prof.of Guidance and Counselling
c) Dr Clifford Amino as Asso.Prof.of Measurement and Evaluation
d) Dr Ganiyat Adesina-Uthman as Asso. Prof. of Economics
e) Dr Angela Okpala as Deputy University Librarian
f) Dr Comfort Uzoigwe as Deputy University Librarian, explained that a special line of funding would be extended to the African Center of Excellence in Technology -Enhanced Learning (ACETEL) to ensure sustainability of the project after the World Bank intervention.

The Council also commended the dynamic leadership of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Abdalla Uba Adamu for the giant strides the University has attained since its last meeting especially in the areas of academic and physical development.
