Ike Ekweremadu was the voice of the south-east in the senate while Akpabio was the leading voice of the South-South. Even as a first timer, he was bestowed the privilege of leading the PDP senators in the Senate.
Akpabio was well respected, he was most revered and well decorated with honor of the entire Niger-delta.
The day Akpabio decided to bend a knee to our Northern oppressor by defecting to APC, the whole South-East became interested in Akpabio’s re-election.
The day Akpabio said that though he supported Jonathan for re-election, his heart was with Buhari the whole South-South and the entire people of the Niger-delta began to monitor everything that concerns Akpabio.
The day Akpabio’s wife went to the airport and insulted the wife of the state governor(an Annang daughter) by refusing her to receive the wife of the president, something that no one did to her when she was the first lady of the state, the whole of Annang nation remembered not to forget.
The day Akpabio said that he was the one that put Udom on sit and he will make sure that he removes him, the people of Eket senatorial district became interested in Akpabio’s re-election.
The day Unoma Akpabio went to introduce a Delta state woman, an Ese as the woman to become first lady of Akwa Ibom, the whole Akwa Ibom women became interested in Akpabio’s re-election.
The day Akpabio went to the Palace of an Ibibio monarch to threaten him and other monarchs to support the APC agenda in the state, the entire royal fathers took interest in Akpabio’s re-election.
The day Akpabio went on the podium to denounce God, by condemning the slogan, “Only God ” used by Gov Udom Emmanuel, the fathers of faith in Akwa Ibom became interested in Akpabio’s election.
The day he went to Nsit Ubium and said they should tell Onofiok Luke that he will not win Etinan federal constituency the people of Ibibio felt insulted and became interested in Akpabio’s re-election. An average Ibibio man is a proud and intelligent man who will rather die than have someone from another tribe come to his land and make decisions for him.
The day Akpabio and Nsima Ekere held a parallel service with the government of Akwa Ibom state to commemorate the anniversary of the state just to undermine the power of the state governor, Deacon Udom Emmanuel, something that him Akpabio wouldn’t have tolerated when he was the governor of the state, the whole Akwa Ibom state became interested in his re-election.
These and many more are the reasons why you see people celebrate his failure to win re-election, it has nothing to do with hatred.
Akpabio is his the architect of his own undoing.
