Seeking cancelation of Adamawa state elections, court dismissed the case

Court dismisses suit seeking to cancel Adamawa state governorship election.

Justice Abdulazeez Waziri of the Yola High Court has these morning dismissed a case brought by the candidate of the Movement for the Restoration and Defence of Democracy (MRDD), Eric Theman, requesting cancellation of the Adamawa governorship election.

The case was dismissed because it has no evidence.

Mr Theman had requested that the Adamawa governorship election should be cancelled and a fresh election conducted because his party’s logo was removed by the electoral commission, INEC, on the ballot papers.

It was on that issue made Mr Waziri to ordered the suspension of the state supplementary Governorship election last week.

INEC without Objections obeyed the ruling and suspended the supplementary election.

On the development, the judge was on Tuesday lifted the suspension order.

While On Friday, delivering the final judgement on the main suit filed by the MRDD candidate, the judge said Mr Theman has not tendered any proof to tell the court that logo of his party was removed on the ballot papers.

He them dismissed the case.

In a bid to bring hustle to an end INEC on Thursday declared Umar Fintiri of people democratic Party (PDP) the winner of Adamawa governorship election.
