It was a tragic moments at Kogi fishing festival 9n Saturday 30 march 2019 as gunmen Spray bullets on people’s at the event.
According to The report, the festival is already going on when gunmen arrived in an engine boats, and then shots sporadically on the crowd.
The Dankwo fishing festival in Lokoja the Kogi State capital is always held annually.
The festive was organized by Lokoja traditional council.
The three gunmen was said to has arrived at the Kabawa Waterfront, were the festive is going on, and open fire on the participant while they are still on the boats.
The guests has to run for the safety of their live, but five persons were hit by bullets.
Confirming the incident, News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), said that Police were immediately contacted, but before they arrived the areas, the gunmen had already escaped in the engine boats.
DSP William Aya, spokesman of the Kogi State Police Command, who spoke on the incident, said that the injured persons had been taken to the Federal Medical Centre, Lokoja, for treatment.
He also reveal that two persons had been arrested in connection with the incident, saying that investigation had commenced and anyone found culpable would be prosecuted accordingly.
