Ned Nwoko and Regina Daniels: a Celebrity Love Story

On Sunday, 31 March 2019, Prince Ned Nwoko, an international lawyer and prominent politician from Idumuje ugboko in Aniocha North local government area of Delta State, rolled into Asaba town in a glittering black Rolls Royce, one of his many exotic cars. He was escorted by a convoy of few equally exotic automobiles.

The Delta billionaire had not come for an ordinary visit; he came to meet the family of Regina Daniels for the customary marital ceremony. According to an eye witness who does not want to be named, among those who accompanied him to the quiet but eventful ceremony were some of his expatriate friends, selected close family relations and few palace chiefs including the Iyase of the Idumuje – Ugboko, Chief Chris Ogwu.

The marriage introduction took place at Asaba in presence of Regina ‘s mother, her uncle who stood in for her biological father as well as all her siblings. We gathered that Regina had joined them for the engagement ceremony about 15 minutes after others were already seated, accompanied by some of her female friends.

A source very close to Nwoko told XCLUSIVE MAGAZINE that the high flying Idumuje ugboko prince wanted a quiet ceremony, something hush-hush. After the marriage ceremony, which lasted from about 6pm to about 6.45pm, Ned and his entourage departed Asaba for a scheduled visit to a prominent traditional ruler in a neighbouring community.

The Romance and Mouthwatering Pecks
For 2 years before the engagement ceremony, the Anioma billionaire Prince Nwoko and Nollywood actress, Miss Regina Daniel have been having a sizzling romance. Dating a billionaire usually comes with some mouthwatering pecks, and the Delta billionaire philanthropist, described to XCLUSIVE MAGAZINE by one of his close associates, “as a classy man enamoured with good life,” did not disappoint. He showered on Regina opulent gifts ranging from exotic cars to a multi-million Rolex wrist watch and an eye-popping palatial mansion located at Okpanam road behind a popular hotel, Swiss spirit hotel Asaba, the Delta State capital, among other sundry items of endearment. The marriage was held in the house bought by Ned for the family.

The delectable teenage Nollywood star has also been sighted severally aboard a private jet in Murtala Mohammed international airport, Abuja, courtesy of the Delta big boy, reputed as one of the wealthiest business moguls in the Nigeria.

There is also a recent media report that Regina Daniels acquired a posh Ferrari just days after her marriage to Prince Nwoko. But a source very close to Regina revealed to XCLUSIVE MAGAZINE that the magic on wheels of a car was actually not a new acquisition, rather it was one of the exotic cars in Nwoko’s fleet of cars.

“Regina is now married to Ned and has full access to all Ned’s exotic cars. All she needs to do from now is just stroll down the garage, choose whichever car that tickles her fancy and go for a ride. It is as simple as that,” said our source.

Nwoko/Daniel’s Love Affair: Hit or Miss?
Ned and Regina’s romance and marriage has generated widespread attention and mixed feelings.

Ned, as he is fondly called, is 59-years-old while Regina is about 19. Some bystanders have raised eyebrows over the love tango based on the 40-years age gap. This category see the engagement as incongruous and totally strange. Others have, however, given thump-up for the love-struck duo, celebrating the affair as permissible since the two are consenting adults entitled to privacy and preference.

According to the proponents of the engagement, neither Ned Nwoko nor Regina Daniel had broken any law of the land since the relationship aligned with the established legal age of matrimony which is 18, and even the religious inclination of Ned. He is a muslim.

“Prince Ned Nwoko’s engagement to Regina Daniels is a celebrity love story reminiscent of the famous tie between iconic Biafran war lord, late Chukwuemeka Odemegwu and the ex-beauty queen Bianca Onoh, who got married in 1994,” said a source who spoke to XCLUSIVE MAGAZINE on condition of anonymity.

“Ojukwu then was over 60 years and Bianca in her 20s. Engagements/marriages among older men and younger females abound world wide and have existed since ages,” he said.

Insider sources reveal to XCLUSIVE MAGAZINE that Regina’s family are enthused with her romantic liasion with the Idumuje ugboko prince. Her mother who lives in Asaba and her entire family are said to be fully in support of the affair with prayers for a blissful relationship.

Who is Prince Ned Nwoko?
The story of Prince Ned Nwoko is a tale of grit and grace. A source who is very close to Nwoko simply describes him as the modern day M. K O. Abiola and Atiku Abubakar combined with wealth, wives and politics.

He achieved success by diligence. Prince Ned Nwoko received primary and secondary school education in Nigeria. He moved on the United Kingdom got his first degree in law and history at the prestigious University of Keele, Staffordshire UK. He also attended Kings College, university of London, culminating in a post graduate class with an LLM in maritime and commercial law.

Prince Nwoko was subsequently called to the English bar, at Lincoln’s inn. He began his legal career with the crown prosecution service as a prosecutor and qualified as a solicitor of the supreme court of England and Wales. He was awarded Honorary Doctorate in Letters (D.Litt.) by commonwealth university college, Belize, North America.

A sharp witted lawyer, he established his own firm in London: Ned Nwoko & co solicitors. At the peak of his legal sojourn in UK, he was reputed to have had the biggest black law firm in England and was recognized as the best black lawyer of African descent in England in 1995.

Ned Nwoko the Politician
Prince Ned Nwoko gained prominence in 1999 when he returned from Britain to assume political office as member of the National Assembly. It is to his credit that he made a remarkable entry into Nigeria’s political turf when he was elected member of the House of Representatives between 1999 and 2003. Hon. Nwoko represented Aniocha / Oshimili federal constituency, making an impressive showing in the legislative House with a record number of 22 bills and provision of critical social infrastructure in his constituency.

In 2018, he contested the Delta North senatorial primary under the PDP, but his fiercest rival Senator Peter Nwaobosi was declared winner. Prince Nwoko and his supporters believed he was cheated and went to court. On Wednesday, 3 April 2019, a federal high court sitting in Abuja declared Prince Ned Nwoko winner of the PDP Delta North senatorial primary

Delivering judgement, the presiding judge, Hon. Justice A. R Mohammed said from all available evidence before the court, Prince Nwoko convincingly won the Delta North PDP senatorial primary election held on 2nd October 2018. And by implication of the judgement he stands as the senator-elect for Delta North. Senator Nwaoboshi has reportedly challenged the judgement in appeal court.

Ned Nwoko also championed the governorship re-election of his Anioma brother, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa for a second term under the mass movement OPERATION RETURN OKOWA 2019.

As the deputy chairman of Okowa re election campaign team, Ned made monumental contributions rallying social mobilization and financial muscle towards the resounding victory of Okowa .

Ned’s motivation, according to him in a recent press interview, is based on the need for equity and social justice in a complex multi-ethnic state where Delta central and Delta south senatorial districts had ruled for 8 years apiece to the exclusion of Anioma people of Delta North .

Ned Nwoko: Billionaire and Philanthropist
Ned lives in opulence and grandeur. He is reputed to be worth over a billion dollars. He is the initiator of the Paris club loans refunds to Nigerian government, a mouth watering deal that attracted billions of dollars.

He owns the biggest private resort in the Niger Delta, Mount Ned, a wonderous tourism destination with amazing exotic architecture and the rarest collection of wild life.

A lover of education, he is also the chancellor of STARS UNIVERSITY, located at his Idumuje ugboko home land, and the first sports University in sub -saharan Africa.

Ned Nwoko’s philanthropy is legendary. He recently renovated the Idumuje ugboko- Onitcha Ugbo road linking the South South and South East to Northern Nigeria at a cost of 100 million Naira.

In 2018 offered scholarship to over one thousand students in secondary and tertiary schools. He has spent his personal funds estimated at over 100 million to provide tuition fees for the beneficiaries drawn from Delta and other parts of the country.

He has since the past decade also provided scholarship schemes to indigent students, hundreds of whom he sponsored their University education.

Numerous widows, artisans and local farmers are said to have benefited from his generous financial care as they often troop to his Idumuje ugboko country home for assistance.

Ned is reputed in social and political circles in Delta State and Nigeria as a man with populist appeal on of Journalists.
