Buratai Seeks Education, Infrastructure to reduce Crime

To reduce the high level of insecurities in Nigeria, chief of Army Staff Lt. General Tukur Buratai, believe that building infrastructure and improving education in Nigeria has a critical role to play.

Buratai said these as he visited acting Governor of Edo state, Mr. Philip Shuaib on Monday at Edo State Government House. He stress that Education and infrastructure will keep the youth engaged as such prevent them from taking part in a crime.

According to him, “the mobilization for the development of the area is very necessary; infrastructure has to be fully on ground to ensure that ugly situation did not come”. He said Nigerian Army will try as much as it can to maintain a cordial relationship with the civilian in the society, with these cordial relationships, it will provide a channel were delicate information about criminality are shared in the society.

He added by saying that education is very vital in the society, and public support to make sure that they give desire intelligence and information on the social movement of miscreant and criminal elements.

Philip Shuaib respond by saying that he is overwhelm with the way army were able to restore peace in Nigeria, he then called on lawmaker to make a provision of more funding for the military to enable them perform more in the their respective duties.

According Shuaib, “Thank you for what you have done in the North-East we also appreciate you for the peace you restore in the South-South.
