WORKERS IN CROSS RIVER PROTEST EARLY PAYMENT OF SALARY FOR MAY

Workers in Cross River took to street to protest early payment of salaries accoding to report reaching omokoshaban.com, Governor Ayade of River State pay May salaries a week interval after April payment.

Our correspondent learn that the governor paid may salaries on the 1st of may, of which project the Workers in the State to protest because of the payment.

Cross River State Governor Ben Ayade have been paying May salary on the first day of the month for the last three years of his tenure.

Adressing the news on the development the state chairman of the Trade Union Congress, Mr. Clarkson Otu, stress that the workers and the leadership of Labour were not happy with the early payment of salary.

According to the labour leader, even though the government means well, labour leaders were not happy with the situation.

“As labour leaders we do not support early salaries payment. We have told the governor that it is not proper. April salary was paid only last week and on May 1st he pays May salary.

“We are surprised he still paid early this month in spite of our protest. We will continue to engage him on that,” he said.
