All Progressive Congress (APC) National and State Assembly forum in Kogi State, yesterday endorsed Governor Yahaya Bello for a second term as a Governor of Kogi State under the platform of the ruling Party APC.
The report has it that the forum also promise to purchase the Gubernatorial Nomination and Expression of Interest Forms in support of Bello second term ambition.
The forum which is made up of Kogi state’s APC members elected to the State and National Assembly made the pledge via Kogi State Speaker of House of Assembly, RT Hon Mattew Kolawole in a Press Conference at his official residence in lokoja.
The Speaker stated that the event became overbearing in view of some of the issues surrounding the matter, affirming that as a precarious stakeholders in the party and the state, their positions on the upcoming election in Kogi State should be made known.
He disclose that the APC at the National, State and Local levels will not denied Governor Yahaya Bello, because chronicled vastly successes for the APC in all elections since assumption of office and proven same in the last general election where he won two out of the 3 Senatorial Seats, seven of the nine House of Representatives positions, and cleared all 25 State Assembly seats, a exploit that has not been recorded since the creation of Kogi state.
He stated that there were certain rumors going around in some sections of the press intended to create hostility between the government and the people of the Kogi state, therefore the need for them to clear the air.
Kolawole declared that they were well situated as the flanking to the ordinary peoples to inform the media that ninety percent of the indictments of austerity and non-performance against the government of Governor Bello were unproven.
The Speaker on behalf of the forum acknowledged the State Governor for his massive efforts and determined leadership which capped the triumphant outing of the APC in the just concluded elections in Kogi State.
