Ajaokuta: Court slams ₦10m damages against “Authority” Newspapers for defamatory publication against Natasha H Akpoti

If you recall, on 2nd February 2017, Authority Newspapers amongst several others published malicious articles me stating that our Ajaokuta Revival advocacy was being sponsored by Vasuwani brothers and Russians to attack President Buhari’s administration, Kogi State Government etc.

Today, the Hight Court sitting in Abuja affirmed my innocence and granted ₦10million Naira damages against Authority Newspaper and Mr. Ifeanyi Uba (Owner).

Gratefully I dedicate this victory to all supporters of our Ajaokuta Revival campaign for their steadfastness throughout leading into our Senatorial elections with the hope that the National Assembly would serve as a platform to fast track our Steel industry’s progress.

I also dedicate this victory to all women of Nigeria especially Kogi State who have faced humiliation for their selfless patriotic efforts towards the development of our country and her democracy.

I also pledge every Naira of this judgement towards our Social Empowerment Project for women traders across Kogi State.

Finally, by God almighty who made everything possible; I reiterate that:

  1. Gov. Yahaya Bello of Kogi State registered a company called Ajaokuta Kogi Nigeria Limited to divert Ajaokuta Steel Company to himself and cronies.

  2. I never received any reward, financial or otherwise to facilitate our Ajaokuta’s advocacy.

Everything I did and still do is out of a patriotic believe that Nigeria should be industrialized and Ajaokuta Steel complex must work for the creation of jobs and wealth for Kogi and Nigeria at large.

God bless us all
God bless Nigeria
