I must reclaimed my stolen mandates ~Natasha H. Akpoti say

Natasha’s H. Akpoti has pledged to reclaimed her stolen mandates.

Senatorial candidate of the social Democratic Party (SDP) for Kogi Central in the last National Assembly elections, Barr. Natasha Akpoti has said that her main agenda now, is to reclaim her “stolen mandate” in court, while contributing to human development.

Natasha disclosed this when Kogi State group of female politicians from different angle of the state paid her a solidarity visit in her Abuja residence on Friday.

The movement was led by Umulkhani Otokoti, who complained of the current situation Kogi state in general passing through, urged Natasha to contest for the governorship seat.

She stress that Kogi state women have been marginalised and left under discriminations, said that the right time has come for one of them to become the governor of Kogi state and assured Natasha of their total support for her to occupy the Lugard House, come 2020.

She laid her commendation to Akpoti for her ability empower women and youth in the State, given her assurance that the people of the state, especially women are solidly behind her.

Responding to their gestures, Natasha agree that women were marginalised in Nigeria, especially in politics, due to lack of enabling policies, observed that countries with high numbers of women in leadership positions are better governed and more developed in human capacity.

She blamed members of the National Assembly, especially female legislators, for for their inability to work towards the passage of the Gender and Equal Opportunities Bill, noting that a robust legislative reform was needed to ensure greater women participation in politics.

Responding to the called to contest for the governorship, Natasha’s appreciate the women for their trust in her ability to deliver, but said she was yet to make up her mind on that, as she has not done the important research in that area.
