Updates: Court Ordered immediate Arrest of Emir of Kano Sanusi Lamido over N4 billion fraud

A Chief Magistrates’ Court seating in Kano, on Tuesday, give ordered to arrest three persons, including Mannir Sanusi, the Chief of Staff to the Emir of Kano, and Muhammadu Lamido Sanusi II the Emir of Kano.

The report contained that The three people including the Emir were dragged before the court by the Kano State Public Complainant and Anti-corruption Commission for refusing to acknowledged the invitation of over N4 billion fraud investigation against the Emir of Kano.

The report disclosed that Sanusi and others refuse to honour the commission’s invitation, over the allegation.

Ordered of the arrest come, as the The commission wrote to the court requesting an order to arrest the three palace officials.

Mr Idris after going through the request, issued and signed the arrest warrant sequel to a motion by Salisu Tahir, Chief State counsel.

Mr Tahir in his explanation, said that the request is inline with the provision of Section 38 of the enabling Law establishing the Commission.

NAN had in previous report said that the Commission had invited four people in connection to the fraud allegation, but is only one person, Isa Bayero, alias Isa Pilot, who was a former scribe to the Emirate Council, was the one that honoured the invitation.

When contacted, the Chairman of the commission, Muhiyi Magaji, said the three persons that have an arrest warrant on their heads were the core suspects in the case.

Adding that the commission had already requested security operatives to enforce the order and arrest the three persons. (NAN).
