I will describe the victory and eventual inauguration of President Muhammadu Buhari for his second term in office of the most populous African country, Nigeria, as triumph of integrity, dedication, piety and selfless service over corruption and concerted efforts to undermine the development of the country.
President Muhammadu Buhari is an exceptional leader in the political history of Nigeria, I express confidence that the country will rise above its present challenges in all spheres of the economy.
What we are having today is the result of undiluted love and confidence the people of Nigeria have for President Muhammadu Buhari and his Vice, Professor Yemi Osinbajo.
The task of rebuilding this great country after 16 years of locust started in 2015 with overwhelming victory of President Buhari at the polls.
Today, the people have asked him to continue in the office to consolidate on his achievements. The President has been a father figure to all in the last four years even to those who hold divergent political views with him.
President Buhari has kept to his 2015 inaugural speech, where he said he ‘belongs to everybody and nobody’.
I congratulate President Muhammadu Buhari, his Vice, Professor Yemi Osinbajo and Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello for being part of the historic and epoch-making event by delivering his state to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Presidential election.
