Few Month to election, Kogi Gov initiate free medical healthcare for pregnant women

Few month to governorship election in Kogi State, Gov. Yahaya Bello of Kogi initiate free medical healthcare services for pregnant women as part his measure to arrests the rising rates of maternal and infant mortality in the State.

Gov. Bello, while declaring the program open at the inaugural ceremony, Anyigba, Dekina Local Government Area, of Kogi state said that the purpose of the program is to make pregnancy as safe as possible for poor and people who cannot afford antenatal and delivery care in hospitals.

The Governor representative, Dr. Ahmed Attach said that the programs which commenced 17 month ago has witnesses huge success “we were on the right track”.

Dr Ahmed Attah, Special Adviser on Health Matters, to Bello said that the achievements had encouraged the raising up of the initiative to all corners of the state.

He said “Under this programme, our mothers, wives and sisters enjoy free booking, drugs, tests, and all other required antenatal and delivery cares.

“With Health Care plus, and more health friendly projects to come, I have no doubt that the maternal and child health indices in Kogi State will continue to improve for the good of our people,”.
