Roadside trading to stop along market road in Eket LGA, Akwa Ibom

Eket LGA in conjunction with Health and Environmental Section,Nigeria for Peace and First Aid Mission,to stop road side selling/trading of food stuffs and other materials at Urua Nka market the pronouncement was made today in a joint meeting with the Honourable Supervisor for Environment Hon Esta Nta in her office today. Speaking on the familiarities on how to restricts market women on selling along Market road,beside Mobil Mart in Eket LGA Hon stressed it that selling along the aforementioned road in Eket has caused a lots of unwanted accidents/casualties to motorists leaving the road unsafe for people to moved freely.

The Honourable Supervisor after the Meeting in her office also moved the delegations to the Divisional Police Officer(DPO) office in charge of Eket to briefed him on the development to be carried out soon in the market for Advice. The Dpo in his speech welcome the steps taken by the local government council through the office of the honourable Supervisor for Environment,he promised to stand by them at all time,in as much as they do it with caution and carefulness without casualties etc.

The team accompanied by the Honourable Supervisor for works Eket Hon Kingsley Umem also moved to inspects the market to see what could have prompted the women to come out from the market to sell along the road side,but as surprise as it were, they discovered that there are enough space to contained the women inside the market,but they purposely refused to, but rather enjoyed selling along the road side to surpass the other colleagues.

The president of the Urua Nka Market while receiving the team lead by the Hon Esta Nta,welcomed the ideas and promised them of her cooperation in making sure the market women adhered to this information when ever it is pronounced by the Council through the office of the Supervisor for Environment. She also pleaded with the team to talk to the roadside sellers to fine their way inside the market, that are enough empties space for them to occupied.
“By selling outside there even their lives is at risk,they are not save from accident and other dangerous actions by the motorists etc”.

Finally the honourable Supervisor made it known to market women that in less than no time an announcement will be made to the hearing of everybody on went the actions will begin. She also used the medium to seek cooperation from the market women at all ramifications and cooperation with administration of Hon Frank Archibong as the Executive Chairman of Eket to see Eket local government area move to it expected end.
