We will not welcome unnecessary packing of Motorcycles in Eket metropolis. Honourable Supervisor for Works and Transport warned

Eket Local Government Area under the able leadership of Hon Frank Archibong has risen against illegal packing of motorcycle by bike men in Eket metropolis,causing unnecessary traffic, hold ups and unwanted accidents due to wrong packing. Hon Kingsley Umem disclosed this yesterday Wednesday 20th June 2019,while sensitizing bike men/street traders around the popular Marina Junction and other affected areas in Eket.

Speaking during the excerise the honourable supervisor for works and transports Hon Kingsley Uwem said ” we are here to addressed those culpable of illegal/unnecessary packing by bike men that is leading to unnecessary accidents, holdups and other dangers to please ensure they leaved the main road for easily movement of persons and motorists, “as you can see Mariana junction is over crowded with bikes packing carelessly, that this may lead to unwanted casualties and unexpected risk leaving the junction very uncomfortable and dirty.

“Packing motorcycle here and occupying the road is very dangerous because any vehicle driver can loses control and mayhem may occur due to this. Aside it is unlawful and soon we are coming out with a penalty to defaulters.

Speaking further the active supervisor who also frowned at the unnecessary ‘hold ups’ often caused by this wrong packing, pleaded with them to move a little from the main road.

He assures motorists and other road users that on full compliance with this order,there will be free flows traffic around Mariana junction, Market road beside Mobil mart,Liverpool road leading to onna amongst oth for ers.

Assuring that enough measures have been put in place to maintained Sanity and traffic free movement. He also promised to have a meeting with leadership of the motorcycle association here in Eket to see how they can put hands together to make sure Eket is moving forward. He was accompanied by Hon Esta Nta honourable supervisor for environment Eket.

Uwem pleaded with good citizens of Eket and bikes men and others residents in the local government to put all hands on deck and ensure a ‘clean and safe Eket. Adding that after implementing the law that will checks mate this wrong packing of motorcycle defaulters will be brought to book.
