I AM A SURVIVOR, story of a lady which hand was cut off

“Late 2013, I had a tiny wound on my index finger which turned to a big sore and later started bleeding.

The first time I bled, I was rushed to different hospitals in my area which rejected me so I later ended up in a general hospital.

After series of tests and scans my family were made to understand I had a rare congenital condition, AVM (Arteriovenous Malformation).
An abnormal connection between arteries and veins, usually in the brain or spine, (though can appear in any location) and was adviced to be operated on so as to reduce the risk of bleeding to death.
In 2014, I had my first surgery which after sometime failed, but due to financial reasons I couldn’t go back to the hospital and had managed the bleeding and pains for a year until I went back 2015, had another surgery which also failed and my condition got worse. 2016 had another surgery which after sometimes failed and by then my palm was already decaying because

I was also having internal bleeding and prior to the excess bleeding my hand got infected, so the doctors adviced I amputate the affected part.
November 4th 2016, I had my fourth surgery which was to correct the malformation and amputate the decaying part of my hand, involving two fingers but after the surgery my condition got really worse then the doctors suggested a total amputation.

On hearing that I cried bitterly and needed someone to talk to so I went on instagram and wrote my ordeal, from there I got help from lots of people that raised funds for me to go to India for proper medical check up.

I travelled to India alone March 2017 because my parents weren’t granted visas.
I had three different surgeries in the midsts of tears and pains but I still stayed strong. I was not alone, God was with me.
It’s been a year now since I had my reconstructive surgery, although I can’t use my hand again, but I AM NOW AVM FREE.
