Thank God for the socio-political renaissance that Senator Almakura has occasioned
in Nasarawa state. Prior to his emergence as Governor, people’s confidence and hope in the machinery of government had been
terribly poor and very low. The consequence of this was very low peoples’ concern and involvement with political processes and activities in the state.

But with his dynamic involvement in politics and emergence as Governor, through his urban and rural renewal approaches, humanitarian gestures, motivation and people-oriented approach to services and welfarism, people are now more forthcoming in their faith in the system and in the area of participation.

Also, before his entry into politics, people were unfamiliar with the rudiments of social
and political change. The system was not been very dynamic but characterized by status
quo, lack of transparency, graft and lack of commitment or lukewarmness. By Almakura’s social and political change approach, the psyche of the people and their attitude have been regenerated, giving rise to a new understanding and perception of government and a change in approach to government business or public duty. This is one area one cannot deny its great transforming impact.

Today, with the support of the people of Nasarawa state, Almakura has carefully selected Governor Abdullahi A Sule as his successor, and he has since bowed with his head high and is being celebrated statewide.
