AbdulRazaq pays late night visit to Kwara Specialist Hospital

The Kwara state governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq pays unannounced late night inspection visit to Kwara state Specialist Hospital, Sobi (Alagbado).

The governor who arrived the premises of the hospital around 11:05pm in company of Prof Wale Suleiman walked into the surprised doctors and nurses who could not hide their joy of having him around to get first hand information on the level of deterioration experienced in the hospital with the hope that the needful will be done soonest.

The visit is coming days after Gov AbdulRazaq approved N232m to revamp the health sector and with this late night inspection visit it seems the governor is not ready to settle for just good when better can be attained and best secured for posterity.

Dr. Yusuf Abass Eletu who conducted the governor and his entourage round the clinic reiterated their readiness to work but the unavailability of basic needs have made them professionally handicapped over the years. He listed lack of drugs, lack of quality water supply, unavailability of electricity as they are currently running on small households power generators which was evident as at the time of the governor’s visit as the partial lighting within the premises didn’t project the standard of the state owned specialist hospital well.

AbdulRazaq while speaking showed concerned about the poor salaries of the doctors and nurses, appreciated them for choosing not to leave the state despite the unfavourable conditions but promised to look into all necessary factors that will make Telemedicine and Health Insurance work in Kwara.
