APC, Adam Oshiomhole support governor Bello on indirect primaries

The APC has adopted indirect primary to pick its candidate for the governorship election in Kogi state

national working committee (NWC) ccome to the conclusion in a meeting held on Friday, July 5, at the national secretariat of the party.

INEC had fixed November 16th 2019, for the governorship election in Kogi and Bayelsa states The National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) declared its support for Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi on indirect primaries for the forthcoming governorship election in the state.

A statement signed by the party national publicity secretary, Mallam Lanre Isa-Onilu, stated that a formal request from the state executive and stakeholders in preference for the indirect primary was considered and deliberated on. Lanre Issa-Onilu recalled that

“the APC Constitution which was reemphasized by a decision of NEC provides for three mode of primary election to elect party candidates indirect, direct primaries and consensus depending on the peculiarities of the state and preferences of the stakeholders in respective elections.”
