Kogi State Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello has formally received various members of the Peoples Democratic Party Support Groups From Lokoja, who defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Receiving the defections of the political stakeholders including the defectors led by former Lokoja lawmaker and businessman Hon. Suleiman Babadoko, at the party Secretariat, opposite council Secretariat, Lokoja, on Saturday, Chief of Staff to the Governor who ably represented the Governor Hon. Chief Edward David Onoja commended them for their decision, and also welcomed the new members to the APC.
He said he was not surprised by their defections because of a good majority of the people in the State were traditionally APC members and supporters.
Onoja thanked the defectors for demonstrating their support and love to the present administration led by Governor Yahaya Adozo Bello and the APC.
He urged them not to relent in their efforts aimed at ensuring electoral victory for the APC in the forthcoming gubernatorial election.
The delegation of defectors led by a former Lokoja 1 constituency Hon. Suleiman Babadoko, who told the gathering that Kogi State needed someone like Governor Yahaya Bello for speedy transformation of the State economy.
He said the issue is not about the party but the development of the State matter most in politics.
Babadoko also said the State need somebody who can actually deliver the goods to the people.
“We have confidence in Bello and that is why we are here to support him to continue with his goods”. Babadoko said.
A staunch of the APC ward A. Chapters of the party Hon. Fancy Jimoh Tiamiyu, brought hordes of defectors to the party from PDP and other parties and Immediately after the occasion he hosted the defectors at Phase 2 Sport centre for refreshment where he thanked them for coming together to join GYB large political family.

6. APC Governorship aspirant Hon. Abubakar Bashir Gegu and other government functionaries were present.
