Gov. Bello Denied ordered Full payment of salaries to LG Workers in Kogi

Governor Bello has dismissed the claimed making round that he ordered full payment of salaries to local government workers in Kogi state. A report by Punch claimed that The chairman of the Association of Local Government of Nigeria, ALGON, Kogi State chapter, Alhaji Taufiq Isa, said that Governor Yahaya Bello ordered full payment of salaries to local government workers in the State.

Responding to the report, Alhaji Taufiq Isa, said he Never Say Governor Bello Ordered Full Payment Of Local Government Workers Salaries, but said, he directed them to comply with Local government Autonomy.

He said “I did not say the governor ordered for payment of full salaries, the story was taken in an unfair and cruel manner with the intention to smear my reputation and also targeted to cause crisis within the new direction appointees.
“The statement credited to me is baseless, cruel, deceptive, unfair and impregnated with fallacies, and mere story telling intended to please the writer’s political sponsors. Those behind the fake story did not reason well, If I may asked; how can I issued statement announcing full salaries on behalf of a sitting governor when other state principal officers around the governor are there?.
He conclude by saying “I have always assure workers on prompt payment of their salaries and did not pronounce on what to pay local govt. workers yet, as we all know,”.
