Udom Inoyo Guber Ambition Gathers Weight – Pat Ifon, Charles Udoh to Lead Charge

The attention of the member Representing Eket/Esit-Eket/ONNA/Ibeno Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Otuekong (Hon.) Patrick Ifon, has been drawn to a publication in The Ink Newspaper, captioned “Udom Inoyo’s Guber Ambition Gathers Weight” with a erroneous rider …Pat Ifon, Charles Udoh to Lead Charge”.

It would have been ignored due to the shallow thoughts of the writer while attempting to butress his allegations in the content, but for the purpose of clarity on issues raised, and also to disabuse the minds of the gullible, who must have been hoodwinked by this barfaced lies, it is pertinent to respond as follows:

This publication in entirety is not just a figment of the writers imagination, but puts the author in a place of an unschooled writer, that subjects the integrity of the noble journalism profession to questions for publishing a lopsided story without hearing from both sides.

It is of truth that on the 1st of July, 2019, the member Representing Eket/Esit-Eket/ONNA/Ibeno Federal Constituency, had the privilege of playing host to top management staff of ExxonMobil, led by the Vice Chairman, Mr. Udom Inoyo, whose visitation was anchored on discussions of issues that affects the well being of both the core oil producing communities and the multinational oil giant, and as well to profer solutions to endangering situations that have eroded the mutual coexistence between the company and the communities.

It is therefore worrisome, an attempt by a supposed journalist, who should understand the ethics of his profession of balanced reportage, to twist the visitation with a presumption of a political undertone, whereas, issues of political succession was never placed on the table for discuss, neither did Mr. Inoyo announce his intent of throwing his hat into the ring of gubernatorial aspiration.

The author of this blatant falsehood, has also failed to tell the general public if the visitation of the said ExxonMobil Management team to other Representatives/ Senators from and outside Akwa Ibom, was also to intimate them of his 2023 political aspiration, and of what use will that be to the supposed aspiration?

It is also of note that the dust from the 2019 general elections is yet to settle, and the elected officers are busy planning, procreating strategies of providing a robust legislative engagement for the betterment of the constituents, and therefore venturing into or approaching issues of 2023, which is of no effect on the constituents at this period would be a distraction to the House of Representatives member. For the avoidance of doubt, Hon. Patrick Ifon has not discussed nor thrown his weight behind Udom Inoyo or any person interested in the 2023 gubernatorial race.

In this regards, the general public is therefore urged to discountenance this vile attempt by the Ink Newspaper to cause disunity in the state political circle with their fictional stories, and also task the Nigeria Union of Journalists to sanitize the union in other to get rid of miscreants that has dominated the profession, so as to reposition the union for a return of it heydays glory.
