NYSC Pioneer director advocates deployment of corps members to AU nations

The pioneer Director of National Youth Service Corps, Col. (Dr) Ahmadu Ali has advocated the deployment of Corps Members to countries in the African region to expand the scope of its contribution to the development.

This, he said, “was in line with requests from such countries for Nigeria’s support in medical, education and other socio-economic areas.”

He stated this today while speaking to newsmen at the opening ceremony of the sensitization workshop on National Youth Service Corps Act held in Abuja.

He said that the contributions of Corps Members to National Development since its establishment over 46 years ago has made it more relevant to human capital development across the country.

“To those of us that know the beginning of NYSC, we know that the Scheme is moving forward. Sometimes ago, some West African States said they need our Corps Members to assist them in teaching and medical related fields”, Ali added.
