THE HONOURABLE MEMBER HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES, HON ABDULLKARIM USMAN ISAH (WAMBAI OF KOTONKARFE KINGDOM) REPRESENTING LOKOJA-KOTONKARFE FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY.

CONDEMNED THE ACTIVITIES OF KIDNAPPERS IN HIS CONSTITUENCY AS INHUMANE AND INIMICAL.

He said kidnapping is a serious crime which attract stipper punishment in our Law, He however further stated that these henious activities of kidnapping also has potential of transforming into other felonious Crime’s such as
physical violence, financial victimisation, and murder.

Its predisposing factors is due to the activities of insurgent, poverty , desperation and increased with corruption which is strongly related to kidnapping, but they have indirect connection whereby youths (thugs) served corrupt political leaders and turned out to become kidnapper’s (Nausea) and the multiple consequences of kidnapping, such as financial victimization, rape and even death of the victims.
He therefore suggested that for kidnapping to be eradicated in society and Nigeria respectively, poverty and corruption must also be significantly reduced as it involved abductions of Innocent people such as male, females and children particular for ransom. Thus, to address the kidnapping phenomenon,
He urge other top functionaries government to focus more on social investment programs so as to reduce poverty and strategic security action should be onslaught against this menaced.
Meanwhile, his stance on kidnapping remains that the panacea to the seeming inexorable menace of kidnapping and other criminalities is that the security agency alone cannot redeem the situation effectively, but with the collective backing of entire community and the people, as security is everybody’s business.
He recommended the proactive measures by the security agency, vigilantes and as well as Hunter’s which recently paid off with the several milestones achieved in nabbing notorious kingpins of kidnappers.
