EFCC Enugu Wins Big at 2019 NAF Annual Competition

The acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC Ibrahim Magu on Monday, August 5, 2019, congratulated some officers of the South-East Zone of the Commission who participated and won medals at the just concluded Nigerian Air Force Annual 10 Kilometre Walk/Jog organised by the Headquarters, Ground Training Command of the Nigerian Air Force, Enugu.

The event aimed at testing the physical fitness of NAF personnel and ensure their combat readiness was also to promote comradeship and spirit-de-corps among sister Law Enforcement Agencies, was hosted by the AVM I. Amin (GSS, GSM, psc, fdc, msc), Air Officer Commanding Ground Training Command on Saturday August 3, 2019.

The Commission participated in the “Invited Sister Services” category was duly represented in the female category by Obeta Ifunaya and Gadzama Abosede who won the gold and silver medals respectively while in the male category, Ahmed M. Hadji, Nonso Udenka and Abayomi Ogunronbi won the gold, silver and bronze medals respectively.
Magu, the anti-corruption czar, who was represented by Enugu Zonal Head of the Commission, Imam Usman, in his welcome remarks commended the five gallant officers for making the Commission proud.

“I want to sincerely appreciate you all for this valiant stride. You all made the Commission and the zone proud. Your labour of love will never be forgotten. You are great ambassadors of the Commission and we are so very proud of you.”

The walk started at the NAF Base Abakpa to Ogui Roundabout back to the NAF Base.

The event was graced by the governor of Enugu State, His Excellency, Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi and other invited sister Services like the Nigerian Police (NPF), The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), The Nigerian Army, members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Department of State Security (DSS), Representatives of Airtel, representatives of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and other well meaning Nigerians.
