Part of a three story building marked for demolition collapsed, at No 13, Kadara Street,Ile-ile Bus Stop, beside Oyingbo Ultra Modern Market, Ebute Meta

According to the information reaching Lagos Reporters, part of the Three Story Building at 13,Kadara Street Ebute Metta which was marked for demolition collapsed Last night. A resident of the Area who spoke under the condition of anonymity with LR said it happened around 10pm yesterday but no casualty was recorded.

When We visited the site this morning we were denied access to the building and the Site workers claimed nothing happened yester night; however the market women that soround the building shouted him down and rained abuses on him for saying the direct opposite of what actually happened. They call on Governor Babajide Sanwo-olu to come to their rescue.

Lagos Reporters earlier reported that the building which had been marked for demolition three times but the Lagos State Building Control Agency refused to take the necessary actions due to the close relationship between the Landlord and the Head of enforcement unit, who he normally calls “Baba Oye” at Ikeja office of the LABSCA.

The Landlord was quoted to have said “he has taken care of the Lagos State Building Control Agency, they are my instrument, we have settled them nothing can happen.

Our efforts to reach a staff of enforcement unit, Ikeja Office of LABSCA proved abortive as he never picked our calls or return our text.
