It is obvious that for whatever reason, the demolition of the mosque in PortHacourt, the capital of River State by Governor Wike is sad and pathetic, but I enjoyed you all the readers of this not to join issues with him (Governor Nyemson Wike) for whatever mission he intends to achieve. His action for Demolition of Muslim mosque and his declaration of River State as none Muslims state does not in anyway represent the position of patriotic Christian fellows, therefore it should be ignored and disregarded.
Nigeria as a circular state, every Nigerian has the right to live peacefully where he/she chooses. Freedom of religion as enshrined in Nigeria constitution, has given every Nigerian right to practice any religion of his or her choice without prejudice and castration. We should not therefore allow a single action of a bigot who is known for violence even among the Christians to truncate the harmony and good relationship exists between us.
In the history of Islam, worse than this happened to Islam and Muslims in the past and did not succeed and this too would come to pass. Lets no drag other issue into it, Islam encourages peace, endurance, tolerance and frown at divisiveness, incitiveness, indiscriminate revenge and slandering. Governor Wike would only succeed in demolishing the mosque but would not stop Muslims to practice their religion, among these Muslims are indigenes of River States.
Let us guide our utterances and never allow bigot Wike to divide us. We should remain calm and never panic as we await divine intervention. Islam is a religion of God…
