The executive chairman, Egor Local Government Council Area, in line with her constitutional obligation to her people, directed the immediate clearing off of over grown weeds/grasses in and around the loading bay, of Uwelu general market.
Director of environment, Egor Local Government Council Area, Mr. Richard Edenamigho, led his team of environment cleaners and health inspectors, to do the needful at Uwelu General market even on a Sunday.
The choice of day for the work, was on the instructions of the Executive Chairman, Hon. Eghe Ogbemudia, who thought it wise for Sunday, so as to limit the distractive interference from traders, while the work is going on.
It is important to note, this directives of Hon. Eghe Ogbemudia came just after she paid an unscheduled visit to the location and she found the whole area to be bushy and then instructed that, heavy equipment be deployed to do the clearing because of the large expanse of land area, involved.
Dr. Charles Okpere who is the Head of Administration, was very much on ground along with the technical head of Egor local Government Council, Engr. Edward Omoregbee, where on ground to ensure all logistics where put in proper perspectives. Director of information, Mrs. Augusta Osayende, was also present to give the clearing, a media cover.
