The Kogi local government Administrator, Barr. Muhammed Tanko Musa Osuku, has announced that farmers and flood victims in the council will be given fertiliser to boost their farming production.
Barr. Tanko Musa disclosed this on Saturday in Kotonkarfe, the local government headquarter during the official flag off of free Fertilizer distribution, According to him, the palliatives came from the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) under the presidential intervention for conflict states in conjunction with State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) under Kogi State government to provide a reliefs to affected farmers and flood victims in Kogi LG.
The Administrator who thanked the federal government under the purpose leadership of the President federal republic of Nigeria, His Excellency, Muhammadu Buhari and the workaholic agricultural friendly Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello for coming to the aid of the people who are affected by flood.
Also speaking, Hon. Commissioner for Agriculture in the State, Mr. Kehinde Oloruntoba acknowledged both the federal and state government said the measures taken was in order to improve the standard of living of the people, adding that the state government has also keyed into the the Federal Government’s Agricultural Policies such as operation feed the nation and to promote commercial agricultural Development Scheme among others.
“The State Government accords the sector a priority to maximize our potentials for socio economic development of our people and the state. We have also keyed into the the Federal Government’s Agricultural Policies all targeted towards improving the living standards of our people.”
Representatives of NEMA all call on the beneficiaries of this timely gestures to utilized the government effort by switching into actions in order for bumpers harvest.
further stated that the distribution of free fertilizers was to enable farmers to access essential farm inputs before in the raining season.
He then commended Admimistrator, Barr. Muhammed Tanko Musa Osuku for supporting the programme by ensuring the programme held successful without hatches.
Later on, the Administrator led the team to Ohimegye Igu Kotonkarfe palace for his fatherly blessing, in which he accorded them high esteem welcome and assured them of his support.
