A major disagreement and acrimony has breakout between governor Yahaya Bello and Alh. Abdulkareem Wambai who lost his case to Bar. Shaba Ibrahim of People Democratic Party PDP at court of appeal early this week over Lokoja/Koto Federal constituency.

A source close to the government said that governor Bello released 144 million naira to Wambai for onwards delivery to the appeal court judges as a bribe but Wambai thought otherwise believing he has a good case and should not waste such money on bribery.

However, a confident Wambai was shocked and fainted when the news reached him that he has lost the case. But the governor was more devastated in the news that he has lost Lokoja and Koton Karfe. LGAs, and based on the current reality on ground that Lokoja/Koto Federal constituency is a swing area that can determine who win next month governorship election.

The devastated governor Yahaya Bello has severally threaten Wambai to return his 144 million naira saying it was not a dashed but a mutual support to maintain APC grip on the constituency.

So far, Wambai remain reluctant and adamant about governor Bello”s threat and he has since gone underground with the slush money.

But a close ally of Wambai confirms the development and said his boss will not return any penny back to the governor.

According to him the governor too does not own the money but the state.

Meanwhile, the people of the constituency are still out celebrating the victory of PDP. The celebration is cut across party line especially the people of Lokoja LGA who believes that Bello’s government has failed and be voted out next month.
