Information reaching this medium has it that Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, former Osun state Governor and now minister of Interior has allegedly sneaked into the city of Ilorin at the wake of Sunday on a mission to woo aggrieved party members who are not on good book of Governor Abdulrahaman Abdulrazaq to the camp of his paymaster , Bola Ahmed Tinubu in order to set motion on ground for the latter’s presidential ambition come 2023
Sources close to the APC confirmed Aregbesola presence this Morning with a mandate from Tinubu to ensure all Anti Ramoni block in APC in the state remains intact with him while ignoring Governor Abdulrahaman whom Tinubu earlier described as a Fumbling Governor who drank water from a pot and trying to break the pot of water .
Part of the mandates assigned to Aregbesola also include wooing some loyalists of Abdulrahaman to start identifying with the party Chairman, Bashir Bolarinwa while dumping the governor who has virtually reduced the party into unnecessary fractions since his emergence in May , 2019.
It is not clear whether the meetings will be ending today but the interior minister reportedly entered the state with huge cash to be distributed to aggrieved party stalwarts who are virtually stranded since after elections and who will be part of his meetings .
Aregbesola also hinted those who saw him at the Ilorin international airport that his boss,Bola Tinubu may also be placing some of the top ranking members of the party who have been sidelined on long term salaries ahead of 2023 with lucky one among them to be considered for national portfolios .
Tops of the party stalwarts penciled for meetings include Professor Oba Abu, Malam Gobir , Party chairman Bashir Omolaja Bolarinwa and host of others who have not key in to Abdulrahaman Abdulrazaq factions in APC Kwara .
This is coming few days after Abdulrahaman have constituted his cabinet with an 100% approval from the rubber stamp State Assembly which seems to have been pocketed by AA led Executive arms since her inauguration.
Recall that Governor Abdulrahaman Abdulrazaq who was declared winner of the last controversial gubernatorial elections on the platter of federal might has since turned against his party while trying to form his own parallel structures named AA Group across the sixteen local government of the states . The Governor also had reportedly spent billions of Kwara Money to buy loyalties of some top officials of the party at state and ward levels while trying hard to remove the party Chairman in a bid to install those who are loyal to his directives .
Aregbesola as Governor of Osun State also throughout his first four years sidelined his party the defunct ACN ,refused to appoint commissioners and was alleged by party faithfuls of lording his Lagos friends upon Osun state people . He also left the state in serous Salary crisis but performed excellently in areas of infrastructure delivery to the state capital , Osogbo .
