Oshiomole’s suspension by the Edo State chapter of the APC is more valid than any of the kangaroo and vindictive suspensions the former labour leader dished out at the NWC of the Party.
Going by the way the APC is structured by the founding fathers, the Party’s leadership structure accords much importance to the grassroots, as it does to the national leadership.
The former Edo governor should know enough to know that this is not one of those things he would sweep under the carpet and expect nothing to happen.
The immediate implication is that, having being suspended from the Party, Comrade Oshiomhole seizes to be the national Chairman of our Party, and any action he takes in that capacity is liable to being nullified by the courts.
It therefore behoves on the Party’s national leadership, the NEC, especially, to sit and find the most amicable way to resolve the many avoidable crises which the Party has been enmeshed in.
Alternatively, Adams Oshiomole should go to court to quash this suspension, if he wants to continue in his position as the Party’s national Chairman. Should the Party fail to handle this situation well enough, then, we may faced with a situation where whatever Adams does from today, as the national Chairman of the Party, may be quashed by the courts. These may include, the upcoming Edo governorship primaries, etc.
