How Captain Hosa crippled EBS by supplying failed transmitters, carted away N500m

With the political tension rising in Edo State over the internal crisis rocking the All Progressives Congress (APC), reliable sources have revealed how Captain Hosa Okunbor in connivance with the former Governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, crippled the Edo Broadcasting Service (EBS), with the lousy handling of a N500m contract for supply of equipment to the service.

A source familiar with the transaction said the deal fell apart after Comrade Adams Oshiomhole collected outrageous kickbacks for the contract, which resulted in Captain Hosa reneging on the terms of the contract.

According to him, “I have it on good authority that EBS is the way it is today because Captain Hosa Okunbor squandered the N500m contract award to him by Comrade Oshiomhole for supply of transmitters. Oshiomhole, in his usual style, got fat kickbacks from the contract, while Captain Hosa made do with the little that was left of the N500m to supply the equipment. The equipment was eventually imported and abandoned at the ports in the Lagos.”

He continued, “At the end of the day, the Edo State Government had to beg for duty waivers for the equipment to be cleared and brought to Benin. When it got to Benin, there was issues installing them as supply didn’t keep to the technical agreements for the installation. That is why we have such bad signals today from EBS. So, when next you complain about bad signals and reception from EBS, just know who to blame.”
