Tanker loaded with Diesel’s Fell at law school inwards oriental Hotel along Lekki-Epe expressway

A white coloured unbranded tanker with registration number KRD-280XN laden with 33,000 litres of AGO (diesel) was found fallen at Law School, inward Oriental Hotel, along Lekki- Epe Expressway. Further investigation revealed that one of its tyres bursted while on full motion. This resulted in the tanker running over the highway median and the tanker compartment detached and flipped over, thereby resting on its head. Two compartments of 11,000 litres each have already discharged their contents on the road while the last 11,000 litres compartment is still intact. The road has been cordoned off on both sides of the highway and a diversion created to ease movement of traffic. The combined efforts of the Sharks Response Squad alongside the Bravo Team (Paramedics) of LASEMA, LASTMA, LASG FIRE, FED FIRE, LCC and Nigeria Police are on ground. No lives were lost as a result of the incident but the tanker driver (male, 31yrs) sustained internal injuries and has been transferred to the hospital by the BRAVO team of LASEMA. Operations concluded as the road has been finally reopened for vehicular activities.
