Boko Haram burned churches and Schools in a fresh attack at villages in Biu Borno State

Suspected Boko Haram insurgents yesterday Sunday attacked Mandaragirau, a village in Biu Local Government Area of Borno State.

The attackers reportedly burn down the community schools, and churches.

While a man was abducted by the insurgency while leaving the community.

Omokoshaban learn that their no repel of the attack because it took place in the night.

The Residents were force to flee the community into the bush for safety, despite the chilly weather caused by harmattan.

Confirming the report, a resident of Biu told PREMIUM TIMES that, the gunmen set fire on the town’s church and a primary school and waited until it burnt down before they left.

“They have burnt down a church, a school and some shops in the town,” said the source who asked not to be named.

“They have also taken away one man whom they caught while trying to escape.”

The source said the fleeing villagers spent the night out in the cold till this morning.

“They have all returned to the town this morning,” he said, suggesting no one was killed in the attack.

The report also disclose that Yusuf Adamu, a former chairman of Biu Local Government Area, also confirmed the attack.
