Excavation of Yobe’s 8000 years old dufuna canoe in 1987

The oldest canoe found in Africa and 3rd oldest in the world, confirming the existence of human beings in this part of the world (6000yrs before christ) with some level of civilization and technology. The discovery was made by a Fulani man while trying to find water for his cattle in 1987 . Excavation took place in 1992. A wonderful and landmark discovery indeed.
