Harmattan: Hundreds of Almajiri received blankets and sweater jackets from Yobe State Government

In an effort to come close to the Almajiri system, understand, learn and contribute towards Reintegration and support Governor Bunis out of school enrollment program.
Yesterday, 3 Jan 2020, SEMA led it Executive Secretary, Dr. Mohammed Goje visited Almajiri IDPs in Host community.

Goniri and Mandunari are 2 communities from Gujba LGA affected by insurgency.

The two Almajiri schools visited are located in Damaturu with population of over 100 pupils all from Gujba LGA.

SEMA distributed to each pupil a blanket and a cardigan to cover them as the harmatan season sets in.

In addition to covering the Almajiris this season, the school heads were given food items with specific instructions to cook and support the young ones with early morning meal and discourage begging in the streets during harmatan.

The Executive Secretary led the team and distributed the blankets and cardigans to the IDP Almajiris.
