Kogi State Governor, Alh Yahaya Bello has through his Deputy, Chief David Onoja assessed situation in Tawari Community where militias attacked natives of the community.

No fewer than twenty persons were reportedly killed by suspected militias who invaded Tawari community in Kogi LGA, of Kogi State.

It is reliably gathered that the militias entered the community at midnight on Friday, burnt down the Palace, houses and then killed several people. The least count is 20 while some victims were seriously wounded. We pray God keeps them alive.

Places of worship were not spared.

Until security agents unravel the identity of these ungodly assailants, their identity is still sketchy.

While condoling with the people, Chief Edward Onoja posited that yours truly, “Situations happen but what Kogi state Government will not allow to happen is a re-occurrence of attacks on lives and properties”. Government has done well to curb insecurity to the barest minimum, and this piece will not go without being handled immediately.

Perpetuators must be fished out, prosecuted and made to face the full wrath of the law.

His Excellency, Alh Yahaya Bello by His Deputy have directed Security Agents to be on top of the matter & ensuring those displaced are back home safely.
