In honor of a supervisory councillor from Isu LGA who was shot dead yesterday, while protesting their illegal suspension by Governor Emeka Ihedioha, I hereby announce a freeze on all political posts and essays on this timeline and elsewhere, for the next seven days.
The death of this young man was highly avoidable and totally unnecessary, and I will plead with my friends from all divides never to politicize this boy’s death. Don’t use the picture of his blood-soaked and lifeless body to seek to achieve political points. Let us show some respect and empathy to his immediate family and friends and respect the sanctity of life, at this time.
I pray that God forgives his sins and accepts his struggling soul into His bosom.
