The supreme Court which is the highest apex Court in the Nation today laid to rest the tussle of the Taraba State Governorship March 9th elections.
The lead Judgement was read by Justice Ejembi Eko and he held that the APC Taraba State has no locus standi first of all because they went into the 2019 General elections without a candidate and by viture of the provisions of the law a candidate must go through all the processes of elections before he or she can be declared winner if by any reason he has the highest number of lawful votes but this is not the case with the matter in despute.
Justice Eko held that a candidate who did not participate in an elections can not be declared a winner and can not be allocated with votes
The Court went ahead to declare that all votes cast for APC during the 2019 elections was void, invalid and wasted votes and their efforts amounting to mere academic exercise. The Appeal was dismissed equally as it phases thesame fate of what it went through in the lower court. Justice Eko said the appeal is a waste of court process
The court finally declared Governor Ishaku as the winner of the March 9th 2019 Governorship elections with the highest number of lawful votes in compliance with the provisions of the electoral act and he remain elected
Congratulations Governor DDI
