Kogi Governor says death of AVM Yahaya devastating, condoles family

Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello has described the death of Air Vice Marshal (AVM) Ismaila Abdulmumuni Yahaya as devastating, noting the Air Officer died at a time his service to the nation was most needed.

In a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Onogwu Muhammed, Bello described the death of AVM Yahaya as a big loss to his family, state and nation at large, adding that his death would create a huge vacuum difficult to be filled.

“The news about the passing of Air Vice Marshal Ismaila Yahaya is devastating . I share in the pain and grief of the immediate family of the late Air Officer, the Nigerian Air Force and the nation in general.

“The legacies left behind by the deceased will continue to be cherished and his memory honoured for all the good deeds and selfless service he had rendered particularly, in the defence of our country and humanity in general.

“The career graph of late Air Vice Marshal Yahaya will remain an inspiration for subsequent generations of the Nigerian Air Force”, the statement added.

Governor Bello further urged the family to accept the death of the deceased as the will of Allah, praying God to comfort the family and grant them the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

AVM Yahaya who hailed from Okene Local Government Area Of Kogi State died recently after a brief illness at the age of 53 and has since been buried according to Islamic rites.
