Akwa Ibom, Govt warn artist, as Police Detained comedian Sir James Over His Facebook post, against Hon. EsinCommissioner

The government of Akwa Ibom State has issued a warning statement, to the upcoming artist in the state, to be mindful of the type of post they will write on social Media.

The Statement come, after police Detained comedian Sir James, for written post against

“Honourable commissioner for culture and Tourism, Akwa Ibom state, Rt.Hon Orman Esin,”.

According to press Statement signed by

“David Sergeant ( Utang Akwa Ibom)
S.A to the Governor on Entertainment,
Akwa Ibom State”, Comedian James was said to written post which he speak against, the commissioner.

The Akwa Ibom State government, has described the post as treacherous.

It has been brought to my notice that Comedian Sir James is in police custody at the instance of the Honourable commissioner for culture and Tourism, Akwa Ibom state, Rt.Hon Orman Esin, for inciting treacherous and libelous post on social media (Facebook) which has caused serious threat to the Honourable Commissioner and members of his family.

As the Special Assistant to his Excellency on entertainment and on behalf of the members of the entertainment industry in Akwa Ibom State frown seriously at his irresponsible conduct which is not only an embarrassment to the Honourable Commissioner but to State Government and the entertainment industry in Akwa Ibom State.

While I frown at the action of Comedian Sir James for his misconduct, I wish to use this medium to categorically caution youths especially artistes in the industry to conduct themselves properly, respect the rule of law and those in position of authority.

Any further show of irresponsible act or conduct from any artiste henceforth shall attract stiff sanctions from the leadership of the entertainers in Akwa Ibom state.

To this end, on behalf of the entertainers in Akwa Ibom state hereby tender our unreserved apology to Rt. Hon Orman Esin, the Honourable Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Akwa Ibom state.”
