Leaders are not elected to make excuses ~~ Sen. Elisha Ishaku Abbo

“I have been at home Adamawa state with my people from 11th December 2019. In the course of this fruitful stay, I had the chance to Interact with the poorest of the poor. I had the chance to pay surprise visits to old friends and to places that’s usually a no go area for the ruling elites.

I will forever be greatlful to God for this eye opening over one month holiday at home with my people. I am happy I didn’t go to Canada as I proposed since February 2019.

One of these no go Areas is the the gully erosion site in Kabang, Mubi South. This place destroyed over 46 homes this past raining season.

Below are the pictorial snippets.

Day 1. On Tuesday, Wearing a Kaftan and a cap, I visited the area after receiving an SOS from the community. Too many people crowded the place and I could see things the way I wanted to. I left.

Day 2. Wearing a blue jeans, blue cap and a brown hoodie, I paid a surprise visit to the site with only an Engineer, my staff and two other people. I traversed the length and breadth of the erosion site that was turned into a a huge refuse dumping site and smelling to high heavens. I made up my mind to commit my personal money into this project before ecological fund intervention comes.

Day 3. Wearing a blue sweater, a blue jeans and a blue cap, I arrived the site with a pay Loader machine to start work on the site.

Honestly, from that day I saw how many poor people lost their homes to this place and how many more people will loose their homes if nothing is done before the raining season starts, I practically LOST MY SLEEP.

Today I am a happy man because I have started doing something. At least I will have a good night of sleep knowing fully well that I gave someone some hope.
