Kogi Guber Election Petition: Court Strikeout Natasha’s suit Against Gov. Yahaya Bello

The Abuja Federal High Court, has on Monday, 20th of January strikeouts a suit filed by Barr. Natasha H. Akpoti, of the Social Democratic Party (SDP)’s candidate in the November 16 gubernatorial election in Kogi, against Governor Yahaya Bello, of APC.

Omokoshaban gather that the suit was strikeouts over lack of locus standi.

Justice Inyang Ekwo, who delivered the judgement, held that the alleged offence was criminal and not a civil case which could be instituted by an individual.

The judge, therefore, declared that the plaintiff had no legal right to institute the case.

Recall that Natasha’s has filled a suit seeking for the disqualification of Governor Yahaya Bello, over alleged doubles registration of voters card.

Justice Ekwo had, on Dec. 6, 2019, fixed Jan. 20 to deliver a judgment in the suit seeking Gov. Bello’s disqualification over alleged double registration as a voter. Reported by NAN
