Presidential candidate of the People Democratic party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar has called on Nigerian government to apply method use in 2014 to curve the spread of Ebola virus, in curving the spread of Lassa Fever and Coronavirus.
Atiku Abubakar in a statement said that dreaded Abola virus spread was curve via careful screening and rapid isolation.
He said “In 2014, Nigeria confronted and quashed the dreaded Ebola disease. The swift battle was won by careful screening and rapid isolation. Let us apply the same level of “world-class epidemiological detective work” in the case of Lassa Fever and the looming Coronavirus.”
He said major tools in combating the spread of any disease is awareness and education.
He then called on Nigerian to create awareness on Lassa Fever and Coronavirus in order to stop the spread.
He said, “Awareness and education are also the most potent tools for combating Lassa Fever and Coronavirus”
